I have used the tool since the release and noticed some very good features and also some features which could cause unwanted scenarios. Within Microsoft Dynamics AX 2012 it is possible like older versions to create and use record templates. With this option, you can default values within records at the time of creating records. It looks like the System administrator is the only person who can create these record templates. This post will inform you how to enable the record templates for other users in AX 2012.

After giving an example of how to use the automatic role assignment by using one of the standard queries in my previous post, I will inform you how to add a new query to use within the Automatic role assignment rules. It is not always possible to add linked tables to the base query to achieve the expected result, due to several points. E.g. two fields in a table have a relation to the same table.
