Security configuration synchronize all

It’s the end of the year 2021 and I would like to add one final post for this year. Together with this blog, I’m also preparing my first blog for 2022. This blog will be about the Synchronize all button on the Security configuration form. The next blog is about the Repair button. These two buttons have one thing in common. If you open the Security configuration form in a normal operating environment, these buttons will show the text “Please wait. We’re processing your request.” and nothing seems to happen. Personalization is one of the key features to be able to tweak the Microsoft Dynamics 365 Finance and Operations to the preferences of individual users. It will even help them to be more productive. Some personal options, like the language and date, time and number format can be managed on the User options page. This is also the page from where Usage data can be cleared. Quite often, some predefined values need to be controlled by a system administrator. Or in case of certain issues, an administrator would need to review and reset certain usage data. Recently, I was speaking about eXtensible Data Security (XDS) at a meetup session for the Pakistan Microsoft Dynamics 365 and Power Platform Community. I did a similar session several years ago and created three examples back then as part of the demonstrations of what would be possible to achieve with this framework for record-based security. For this recent session, based on a question on the Dynamics Community forum, I created a new example for restricting access to the projects and related information for a person who is one of the responsible persons.
